From core modeling enhancements to amazing new capabilities, these improvements can help you create higher-performing designs, coordinate development across your team, and get your job done faster. And as always, theyâre available to subscribers before anyone else.

Last year, we introduced a whole new way to design efficient, lightweight parts generated from the basic constraints you specified. We called it Shape Generator, and this year itâs better than ever, with more control over how the model is created â including mass targets, minimum thickness, and symmetry. In addition, weâre adding more interactive controls to size and position regions preserved from the optimization.

This year weâre adding Reference Model support for even more file types, including the neutral, industry standard STEP format. And youâll find significant improvements to the Reference Model update behavior for CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, NX, and Pro-E/Creo files. Weâre even adding support for importing mesh data so you can treat it just like any other 3D CAD data.

The tools you use in Inventor are getting better in so many ways. Youâll find a new tool to help you better understand the relationships between all the features in your design, easier access to cross-part references, sketch-driven patterning to help you quickly create uniquely repeated geometry, and much more. Weâre also improving 3D sketch commands to be faster and easier to use, giving you greater control. And enhancements to tube and pipe make it faster than ever to create flexible hose routes in your designs.
