The software developer Autodesk announced the launch of AutoCAD Plant 3D 2023. Create and edit P&ID’s, 3D models, and extract piping orthographics and isometrics with industry-specific toolset for plant design.

What’s New in AutoCAD 2023? Added Productivity From the Specialized Toolsets
Each subscription of AutoCAD 2023 includes seven industry-specific toolsets to help you work more efficiently with thousands of pre-built parts, symbols, diagrams, and special features to automate your common processes.
For AutoCAD 2023, the toolsets have been updated with new features to quickly filter projects, exchange data between AutoCAD and Excel or Vault, support the newest design standards, and much more. With the updates included in AutoCAD 2023, we’re helping you adjust to the changing nature of work and enabling you to complete projects more quickly and collaborate with teammates simply. You will also see many of the updates in AutoCAD 2023 in the toolsets.
Plant 3D toolset
Looking to make your drawings easier to visualize? Piping drawings in the Plant 3D toolset can now be displayed in a single-line representation in orthographic drawings, or according to different criteria including line number and size range of piping, property, and window selection.
Additionally, to improve your workflow when exchanging data, you can now use the excel import dialog box when using Data Manager to import data from Excel and accept (it can accept, or you can) all changes that affect multiple drawings.
Last, but not least, you can quickly find projects and their locations with the new filtering functionality for collaboration and vault projects. This is especially useful if you have many projects.
Collaboration Workflow
– In certain conditions, duplicate files are no longer created in the cloud database.
– Improved performance when refreshing multiple files.
Vault Workflow
– The PLANTAUDITVAULTPROJECT command now corrects errors as expected.
– Improved performance when checking out multiple files.
Project Settings
– P3d line group class now inherits the drawing properties.
Piping
– Application no longer crashes when adding Iso message if layer 0 is locked.
– Multi-port valve correctly displays after modifying the angle values.
– Slope pipe routing now works as expected.
Orthographics
– Ortho annotation location offset values no longer reset when updating drawing properties.
Isometrics
– Dimensions no longer overlap on pipe supports.
– Changes to the annotation setting for BOM ID of pipe no longer impact the flange group settings.
– Block modifications of tag annotation no longer impact the blocks of other annotations.
– Pipe now displays in BOM when a reducer connects to a pulled pipe for two different line numbers.
– Pipe support correctly displays when it is placed around olet.
Spec Editor
– Catalog builder can now use the customized Python scripts.
– Wall thickness can now be changed in the Edit Parts dialog box.
– Spec can now be updated as per the changes of valves in the catalog when defining piping component that is equal to the valve.
– Valve operator no longer enlarges after the spec is updated from the catalog.
Report Creator
– Pipeline segments no longer display multiple times in Report Creator.
